The problem
Schools were running attendance, parent communication, and administration across paper, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. Parents found out about an absence hours later, and teachers lost half their day to admin.
Three different audiences (parents, teachers, administrators) needed three different products that behaved like one system.
What I did
I built three surfaces on one shared foundation. A React Native app gave parents real-time attendance notifications. A React and Vue dashboard served teachers and admins. Elixir and Node.js services handled push notifications, attendance sync, and media processing.
The piece that made it hold together was Design System 1.0: 35+ reusable components shared across every surface, so a change to a form field didn't need implementing three times.
What happened
The ecosystem reached over 1,000 schools across 12 countries. Schools reported roughly 70% improvement in parent communication and cut administrative work in half.
