Invygo Car Subscription

A car subscription platform that lets people subscribe to a vehicle monthly instead of buying or leasing. I built the MVP from zero to launch in six weeks alongside one other engineer.

The problem

Invygo had funding, a market, and a closing window. Car subscription was becoming crowded in the Gulf, and being second to market would have meant competing on price instead of product.

They needed a real product with payments, KYC, and live inventory, not a prototype, and they needed it before the quarter ended.

What I did

I scoped hard. Rather than building the full vision, I identified the smallest system that could take real money from real customers: browse inventory, configure terms, pass KYC, pay, drive.

I made the architecture decisions in those first six weeks with expansion in mind: modular services, multi-currency from day one, and configurable booking flows. That added maybe three extra days upfront.

What happened

Invygo launched in the UAE, raised $5M, and expanded into Saudi Arabia. Because multi-currency and configurable booking were built in from the start, the Saudi launch needed almost no re-engineering.

The streamlined digital onboarding dropped user acquisition cost by 40%. The platform went on to serve over 100,000 users across both markets.

How it ran

Week 1

Architecture & setup

React Native, Node.js, and AWS infrastructure. CI/CD, database schema, API contracts.

Week 2

Core booking flow

Browse inventory, select vehicles, configure subscription terms, complete a booking.

Week 3

Payments & security

Payment gateway integration, KYC document verification, and fraud detection.

Week 4

Beta launch

First live deployment to real users in the UAE, on the full booking and payment path.

Week 5

QA & bug fixing

Working through what the beta surfaced: defects first, then the performance work.

Week 6

Launch preparation

Final fixes and release readiness ahead of the public launch.

Hau set the foundation for the entire app. Shipped our MVP in six weeks. I'd work with him again without hesitating.
